Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Scheme 2026
The Assam Government has introduced updated guidelines for the Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Scheme to provide financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. The scheme aims to reduce educational expenses and support students in continuing their studies.
Monthly Assistance
- Higher Secondary (HS): ₹800 per month
- Undergraduate (UG): ₹1,250 per month
- Postgraduate (PG): ₹2,500 per month
- Polytechnic 1st & 2nd Year: ₹800 per month
- Polytechnic 3rd Year: ₹1,250 per month
Note: No assistance is provided during summer and winter vacations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Permanent resident of Assam.
- Studying in a Government or Government-recognized institution.
- HS, UG and Polytechnic female students must be unmarried.
- Married students in PG and B.Ed courses are also eligible.
- Must meet attendance requirements set by the institution.

- Guardian's Income Certificate
- Ration Card (if applicable)

Who Is Not Eligible?
- Students receiving the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Merit Award.
- Daughters of Ministers, MPs and MLAs.
- Students who fail to maintain required attendance.
Application Process
- Collect the application form from your institution.

- Attach the necessary documents.
- Submit the completed form to your institution.
- After verification, funds will be transferred through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Important Update
From the academic year 2027–28, students can avail either the Fee Waiver Scheme or the Nijut Moina Scheme, but not both.
